Songs about “time” and the several distinct meanings associated with the word. Although the dictionary gives the basic definition of time as “a non-spatial continuum in which events occur in apparently irreversible succession from the past through the present,” it also lists over twenty other applications, including “an interval marked by similar events (hard times)”; “one of several instances (knock three times)”; “the present with respect to prevailing conditions (change with the times)”; “the meter of a musical pattern (three-quarter time)”. We have already selected several songs about “time” for our first program from among the many possibilities: "Time After Time", "Just In Time", "Baby, Baby All the Time", "Coffee Time", Summertime", "Moonlight Savings Time", "Twilight Time", "The Time The Dream's On Me", and "As Time Goes By".
