The Shedd Institute is proud to bring its sparkling production of Irving Berlin’s White Christmas back for the 2010 holiday season with old and new faces, all the great moments you saw last year or have heard about, and special new surprises!
This heartwarming musical adaptation of the beloved, timeless 1954 film starring Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye Rosemary Clooney and Vera Ellen features 17 Irving Berlin classics and a great stage adaptation of the original screenplay by David Ives and Paul Blake. Veterans Bob Wallace and Phil Davis have a successful song-and-dance act after World War II. With romance in mind, the two follow a duo of beautiful singing sisters en route to their Christmas show at a Vermont lodge, which just happens to be owned by Bob and Phil's former army commander. The dazzling score features well-known standards including Blue Skies, Snow, How Deep Is the Ocean and the perennial favorite, White Christmas.
