Jesse Cloninger welcomes trumpet Tim Clarke, the Festival Hot Six, and vocalists Evynne Hollens and Michael Stone for a celebratory evening of hot jazz as created by the best of the extraordinary white jazzmen of the 1920s, including sides featuring Bix Beiderbecke and the Wolverines, the Frankie Trumbauer Orchestra, Miff Mole and his Little Molers, Red Nichols and his Five Pennies, and the Ohio-born, New York-based California Ramblers (and their hot small unit, the Goofus Five). Intermixed will be a choice selection of the jazz-tinged popular songs of the period written by "Riverboat Shuffle" composer and Beiderbecke friend Hoagy Carmichael among others, and performed at the time by the likes of Bing Crosby and Annette Hanshaw.
