We're pleased to present the new Broadway stage adaptation of Irving Berlin’s heartwarming WWII-era film musical, Holiday Inn, which starred Fred Astaire and Bing Crosby and revived or introduced a host of Berlin classics including "Easter Parade", "Happy Holiday" and "White Christmas".
[NOTE: Due to technical difficulties, the opening of HOLIDAY INN will be Saturday, Dec 4th rather than Friday Dec 3rd.]
Our story is more or less the same as it was back in 1942, with a few new twists and Berlin songs added in: Song-and-dance trio Jim Hardy, Ted Hanover and Lila Dixon breaks up when Jim decides to quit the boards for life on a Connecticut farm expecting Lila, his fiancé, to join him. Instead Lila continues on with Ted and forthwith breaks their engagement, leaving Jim to run his new, run-down farm on his own. There he meets Linda, a spirited schoolteacher with talent to spare and together they turn the farmhouse into a fabulous inn with dazzling performances to celebrate each holiday, from Thanksgiving to the Fourth of July…and, of course, love stirs! But when Lila runs off with a rich oil tycoon, Ted shows up at Holiday Inn and tries to lure Linda away to be his new dance partner in Hollywood. Will Jim be able to salvage his latest chance at love? Look for thrilling dance numbers, laugh-out-loud comedy and a joyous assortment of hit Irving Berlin songs, including “Blue Skies,” "Shaking The Blues Away", “Easter Parade,” “Steppin’ Out With My Baby,” “Heat Wave,” "Be Careful, It's My Heart", "Happy Holiday", “White Christmas,” and many more!
