What’s funny? How do we know and when do we know it? Is it broad satire in which we send up a non-humorous work, even a cherished masterpiece (Spike Jones, Stan Freberg, Forbidden Broadway)? Is it a performer trying to be humorous (Cab Calloway)? Is it a song written with humorous intent ("How Could You Believe Me When I Said I Love You When You Know I’ve Been A Liar All My Life?")? Or is it instrumental music with humorous elements (Raymond Scott’s "Twilight In Turkey")? The possibilities are endless. Steve Stone and the gang will try to uncover some of the light-hearted gems of jazz and popular music and hope that we’re also funny in the process!
