All Aboard! Summer is the time for a musical train ride with songs about journeys and travelling. We’ll sing our way through the journey with songs like “I’ve Been Working on the Railroad”, “On The Atchison, Topeka, and the Santa Fe”, “Chattanooga Choo Choo“, and “Locomotion”. We’ll play rhythm games, learn the Brain Dance, explore musical instruments, and craft things that move us from here to there! Students can share the art they’ve made and the songs they’ve learned during a Friday performance!
Loco-Motion is the 1st of 4 summer camps offer by The Shedd Institute as a part of its 2019
Summer SongFest program for kids.

Each morning begins with a “warm up”, followed by learning the songs for the week’s theme. They will then get to learn about and play an instrument that has to do with the week’s theme. After a snack the campers will either get a chance to make their very own instrument or get dance instruction based on the theme. The campers end the day with a song circle to prepare them for their performance on Friday:
