Kara (Louise) has been performing with The Shedd since 2002, when she played Louise in Crazy For You.
A few of her other favorite Shedd roles include Sister in Damn Yankees and Gertie in Oklahoma!. Kara attended LCC on a talent scholarship and continued her studies at the U of O with a focus on Performing Arts and Exercise Science.
Kara has taught musical theater at Thurston High School as well a Youth "Triple Threat Workshop" at Ballet NW Academy. She directed her first play, Crimes of the Heart, at Cottage Theater in 2003. She has also starred in leading roles at the Cottage Theater as Jane Eyre in Jane Eyre, The Musical Classic and Judy Denmark in Ruthless the Musical. She is a Shedd Faculty member with the Youth Program, working as a Choreographer and an Acting & Comedy Coach, and has been a Health Coach and Certified Exercise Instructor for over 11 years and teaches dance fitness and cycle classes.
Kara Churchill is a Certified Zumba Fitness Instructor and has taught musical theater dance at Thurston High School. Kara also directed a “Triple Threat” workshop at Ballet Northwest Academy. She has appeared in musicals with Dance Theater of Oregon, Lane Community College, Eugene Festival of Musical Theater, and The Cottage Theater, where she had the starring roles in Ruthless! and Jane Eyre - The Musical Classic. Her directorial debut Crimes of the Heart was also at Cottage Theater. Kara has appeared in Shedd Theatrical productions since 2004.
