MATTHEW LEACH (Bud Frump) got his start in vocal jazz as a South Eugene High School Dorian where he was exposed to both the jazz & classical styles. During this time he discovered a love of the stage, appearing in A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, Mr. Rogers, Butterflies Are Free, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Cabaret, and David & Lisa. Matt' first Shedd Institute production was The Boys From Syracuse, and has since appeared in its Sweet Charity, Lady Be Good, Singing In The Rain, No, No, Nanette, Camelot (Squire Dap), Oh Kay! (Shorty McGee), Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (Esmond Sr.), and most recently as Gus Fielding in last December’s production of Babes In Arms. Matt's appearances with Eugene Opera, including Faust, La Boheme, The Mikado, Carmen, Nixon In China, Dead Man Walking, Girl Of The Golden West, and most recently Sweeny Todd. Other credits include Trouble In Tahiti and Dr. Miracle (in which he performed the title role), The Merry Widow (Camille de Rosillon), Die Fledermaus (Dr. Blind), and The Impressario (Mr. Angel). Matt has also appeared on screen in commercials the award winning short film In The Clear.
