U of O Euphonics; a newly established singing group, and the University's premier LGBTQA+ acapella choir. A Cappella has not been immune to society's expectations; from the implications of having a low, high, or transitioning voice to the selection of repertoire about gender, sexuality, and love. Euphonics formed to combat those expectations, and offer another option to students who would like to sing without stereotypes. Making music together offers a way for singers to cope with and address shared experiences of sexuality- and gender-based oppression, and experiences with intersecting oppression.
