Karen Vincent (Baroque viola) is a charter member of the Portland Baroque orchestra, performing for 30 years on viola with this fine organization. Her Baroque history includes playing violin with the Musicke Consort, Trio St. Cecilia and viola with Seattle Baroque. Karen attended the University of Washington, studying with Vilem Sokol, Richard Ferrin and Donald McInnes. While in Seattle she performed with the Cascade and Seattle Symphonies. On modern viola she served as principal for the Bach Cantata Choir, Portland Opera and many summer music festivals. She is currently principal violist with the Willamette Master Chorus. Today Karen is performing on her 1709 viola made by Matthias Klotz.
