Chuck Redd returns to the Jaqua Concert Hall with long-time colleague, double-bassist and jazz vocalist Nicki Parrott for an evening of classic standards-based jazz featuring their favorite Songbook gems, Jazz classics, a taste of Bossa Nova and Swing. The evening in particular highlights selections from Nicki's latest Arbors release , Dear Blossom, a salute to vocalist Blosson Dearie which features Chuck on vibes, and music from Chuck's recordings, The Common Thread, All This And Heaven Too and Happy All The Time.
This concert is eligible for The Shedd's Free Shedd Jazz Student Ticket program, which makes a set of free tickets to 2017-18 Shedd jazz concerts available to students elementary through college (college students must show student ID). The program is made possible by a support from Shedd benefactors dedicated to exposing young people to jazz in all its forms. Contact The Shedd Ticket Office for information.
