Chuck Redd pays tribute to 4 brilliant vibes players who have had a profound influence both on the instrument's practitioners generally and on him personally: Lionel Hampton (1908-2002), Milt Jackson (1923-99), Terry Gibbs (1924-), and Red Norvo (1908-99). "Hamp," notes Chuck, "I actually didn’t know well, but I met him at The White House--that’s kind of a cool story! Milt and Red I knew quite well. And Terry, going strong at 92 is still a good friend and mentor. It is an honor to dedicate an evening to them and their music."
