I t’s been a while—way too long, actually—since we’ve dedicated a show to the inimitable composer-lyricist Cole Porter (1891-1964). Lynnea Barry and the Jazz Kings offer up a choice selection of his best: from his late 1920s interpolations into revues (Paris, Fifty Thousand Frenchmen, etc.), through his 1930s-50s Broadway classics (Anything Goes, Kiss Me Kate, Panama Hattie, Dubarry Was A Lady, etc.), and a host of films in the ‘50s, including High Society, Les Girls, The Pirate, and many more). Look for gems like “Let’s Do It”, “Anything Goes”, “You’re The Top”, “I Get A Kick Out Of You”, “My Heart Belongs To Daddy”, “Night And Day”, “What Is This Thing Called Love”, “It’s De-Lovely”, “All Through The Night”, “Begin the Beguine”, “Too Darn Hot”, “True Love”, “Love For Sale”, “Miss Otis Regrets” … his list of hits is almost endless.
