This year's grand finale concert at Cuthbert Amphitheater pays tribute to that quintessential 1950s pop form, doo-wop. Dick Hyman and his all-star unit (including Al Caiola on guitar, Frank Capp on drums) welcome what is to our ear the best doo-wop group working today -- The Legends of Doo-Wop (you might have seen their great performances on the 1991 PBS special, Doo-Wop 50). Dick and company open the night joined by Terry Burrell in a tribute to that greatest of 1950s rock 'n' roll and doo-wop songwriting team, Jerry Lieber & Mike Stoller. Then The Legends take the stage to close out the evening. From "Hound Dog" to "Stand By Me" and including such '50s classics as "In The Still of The Night", "Get A Job", "Duke of Earl", and "Guardian Angel", the night will be a great trip down memory lane!
